Best Times to Visit Acapulco
The best times to visit Acapulco are April, May, October, and November. The weather is consistently sunny, hot, and humid during these months, and deals abound. Dry season occurs from November through May, while the rainy season occurs June through September. Average highs throughout the year are in the upper 80s and lower 90s, while the average lows stay above 70 degrees Fahrenheit.
The winter months are Acapulco's peak travel season, so the city will feel rather crowded. You can also expect hotel and airfare rates to be at their highest. To score the best rates, you'll want to plan your trip at least three weeks in advance. Some of the perks of a winter visit include warm weather (daytime highs rest in the upper 90s) and consistent sunshine.
Late spring's shoulder season has the some of the best weather and cheapest airfare and hotel deals all year. However, you may find yourself competing for hotel rooms and prime beach spots with the Spring Break crowd. So if you're not much of a partier, we'd recommend visiting during the fall shoulder season, instead.
Summer is Acapulco's low season, so you're sure to find bargain-friendly price tags on both airfare and hotels. However, we're not sure if the low rates are worth it: The summertime yields temperatures in the high 80s and 90s paired with the sticky humidity that accompanies the region's rainy season. You are also more likely to experience rain showers, which can put a damper on a day at the beach.
Like April and May, this shoulder offers visitors a winning combo of desirable weather and low prices. But if you visit during October or November, you won't have to worry about encountering rowdy Spring Breakers. Instead, you can soak up the 80-degree weather and sunshine in peace.
