|About these ratings|
Stop here if you're a fan of the world's most popular soft drink. Sitting near the Georgia Aquarium, the World of Coca-Cola is as it sounds: a museum dedicated entirely to Coke. Visits to the two-level facility begin with exhibits on the drink's historical milestones, its role in pop culture and the bottling process. The older generations in your group will probably enjoy the museum's attention to the company's past, but the kids will probably be most excited for the Taste It! area, where more than 100 different varieties of Coke from Africa, Asia, Europe, Latin America and North America are available for unlimited sampling. Some recent visitors said the free, limitless samples made up for the pricey admission.
If you can, plan your itinerary so that your trip to the World of Coca-Cola coincides or is around the same time as a visit to the nearby Georgia Aquarium; you can then purchase a Pemberton Pass (available in the lobbies of both venues) for discounted entry to both spots. If you're only looking to visit the World of Coca-Cola, admission for adults ages 13 to 64 costs $16; seniors ages 65 and older pay $14, while children 5 to 12 years old get in for $12. Hours vary by season, but generally, World of Coca-Cola is open from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. on weekdays, with extended hours in the summer and during school breaks. If you're planning to drive here, you should also budget for parking, which will tack on another $10 per car if you park in the World of Coca-Cola lot. If you're traveling via public transportation, the nearest MARTA station is Peachtree Center.
