| About these ratings | ||
Your kids will find plenty to love at the New England Aquarium, starting with the harbor seals that hang out just beyond the ticket booth, ready to great you as you enter the space. Inside, you'll find thousands of marine critters to study, and at the center: the Giant Ocean Tank. The four-story tank has a coral reef replica along with the animals that live among the reef in nature, including sharks. The rest of the aquarium encircles this giant tank. While you're here, you'll see plenty of fish, penguins and even jellyfish.
Budding veterinarians will particularly like the Medical Center portion of the aquarium, where you can watch vets work on injured animals. There is also an IMAX Theater here that has daily showings of various nature-oriented films.
Tickets to the aquarium are on the pricier end. However, if you know you are going to watch a movie, consider buying a combination ticket to save a couple bucks. You can also purchase tickets to just an IMAX film. Discounts are available for kids age 11 and under and for seniors.
