American rocker Sammy Hagar might be the last person you'd expect to see in Cabo San Lucas, but over the past decade he's emerged as one of the city's adopted sons -- and one who has set up homebase at the legendary club and restaurant Cabo Wabo Cantina. Located in the heart of the downtown area, Sammy Hagar's Cabo Wabo Cantina offers a decent restaurant and an excellent nightclub, lauded by travelers as one of the best nightlife options in the city.
While the Cantina is famous for its namesake, one IgoUgo.com traveler admits that Hagar is not a regular: "This is a very cool place. But don't expect Sammy to just show up!" Another traveler on IgoUgo.com comments that the bar contains "an oasis of unique menu choices among the local sea of Mexican offerings" but that "beer and mixed drinks are expensive."
