When it comes to finding a way to keep the entire family entertained, don't settle for anything that isn't outta this world. The Adler Planetarium and Astronomy Museum caters to true astronomy buffs with state-of-the-art exhibits as well as two separate planetariums. If you're new to the Final Frontier, never fear: Hands-on displays and informational presentations will provide you with the info you need to best appreciate all the wonders of the cosmos.
Just a short walk from the Field Museum and Shedd Aquarium, the Adler Planetarium and Astronomy Museum is open every day from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. (4:30 p.m. on weekends). Many recent visitors agree that the cost of admission -- about $27 for adults and $21 for children -- is unnecessarily steep. According to one TripAdvisor user: "It's a really neat place and what is more fascinating then the stars? But this place needs a serious update to ask those prices." However, entry to the planetarium is included when you purchase a Chicago CityPASS. For more information, check out Adler's website.
