The best way to get around Colorado Springs is in a car, since some of the city's most popular things to do are not within walking distance. You can rent a vehicle in town or at the Colorado Springs Municipal Airport (COS), which is located about 11 miles east of the downtown area. There is also a convenient and affordable public bus system. However, when it comes to familiarizing yourself with the city's compact neighborhoods, you should use your own two feet.
