Strøget

Located in downtown Copenhagen (or Indre By), Strøget is the longest pedestrian street in Europe and Copenhagen's largest shopping area. It contains a series of interconnected streets and is lined with numerous boutiques and cafés. Many of the stores are targeted at consumers with a large discretionary income, so be prepared for some sticker shock.

You'll also run into many entertaining street performers along the Strøget, but be wary of hustlers selling fake jewelry and doing the old "guess which cup the ball is under" trick. Cars are not permitted on Strøget.
