|About these ratings|
Punta Molas is a great place to escape Cozumel's constant tourist buzz. On the northeast end of the island lies this small point, marked by a deserted lighthouse and some small ruins. According to one TripAdvisor user, "On the Far side of the Island, where the Cruise Ships do not dock, you get a whole different experience of the Island. Once you reach the Lighthouse you must go up to the top and look all over the island."
This spot is reserved for travelers seeking an out-of-the-way excursion in the Cozumel wilderness. Travelers highly recommend the spot for camping (especially along the beach). But again, only come out here if you're looking to rough it. There are few amenities -- and even fewer people. Be sure to bring a wind-resistant tent and plenty of food supplies and water. ou can access Punta Molas any time, day or night, and you don't have to pay if you are visiting on your own. However, some recent travelers suggest hiring a guide if you want to learn more about the area.
