Best St. Regis Hotels & Resorts

For more than 100 years, St. Regis hotels have been catering to travelers seeking an elegant hotel experience. The brand's roots lie in New York City's Gilded Age; in 1904, the Beaux Arts St. Regis New York drew such famous families as the Carnegies, the Vanderbilts and the Rockefellers to its doorstep. Today, the brand operates more than 50 properties around the world in destinations such as San Francisco, Bora BoraAbu Dhabi, Cairo, Bangkok, Rome and Mexico City. A stay at a St. Regis property often yields access to fine dining venues, upscale spas and state-of-the-art in-room technology. What's more, guests are invited to delve into the history and lifestyle of each hotel's home city through the St. Regis' exclusive Aficionado program, which exposes participants to premier art gallery shows, wine tastings and other cultural events. Perks like this earned St. Regis properties several spots on our Best Hotels in the USABest Hotels in the Caribbean and Best Hotels in Mexico rankings. And because of the St. Regis' family ties, guests can take advantage of the brand's advantages while racking up Starwood Preferred Guest rewards points.

This St. Regis outpost sits within Punta Mita just north of Banderas Bay. The accommodations, which range from 600- to 640-square-foot Deluxe Rooms to the 3,100-square-foot Presidential Suite, feature rustic Mediterranean and Mexican accents, including polished clay floors, handcrafted tiles and natural wood furniture. Along with stylish decor, the rooms also flaunt modern amenities like iHome radios, minibars, flat-screen TVs and high-speed Internet access (for a $19 daily fee). You can dine in if you can't bear to leave your digs, but for a change of scenery, head to one of the hotel's five restaurants. Guests say the cuisine — which includes traditional ceviche and empanadas at Sea Breeze Restaurant and duck confit with black truffle at Signature Restaurant Carolina — is superb. Once you're well-fed, have the concierge arrange tee times at one of the two Jack Nicklaus Signature Golf Courses in Punta Mita. Not a golfer? Leave the kids with La Tortuga Children's Club while you luxuriate at the on-site Remède Spa, sunbathe on the beach or lounge by the three pools. A stay at The St. Regis Punta Mita can get a bit pricey, but thanks to the property's Starwood family ties, Preferred Guest loyalty club members can use their points toward free nights at this property. more

Although it only opened its doors in 2012, The St. Regis Bal Harbour Resort has made a lasting impression on Miami Beach-goers. Travelers describe their experiences here as phenomenal, primarily due to the property's attentive staff and prime location. Overlooking the Atlantic from its seat in Bal Harbour (about 7 miles north of South Beach), this member of the St. Regis Hotels family provides a less frenzied setting much appreciated by couples and travelers with children. Guest rooms are spacious and feature pastel hues, five-fixture marble bathrooms and private furnished balconies, as well as high-tech fixtures like flat-screen TVs and iPod docking stations. When you're not bedding down, you can pass the time at one of two outdoor infinity pools, at the 14,000-square-foot Remède Spa or at one of the nearby golf courses (the concierge is happy to schedule tee times). The resort also features four on-site restaurants, as well as a wine vault. And because The St. Regis Bal Harbour Resort resides under the Starwood Hotels umbrella, members of the Starwood Preferred Guest loyalty program are welcome to cash in points here. more

After one night here, you won't want to stay anywhere else in Mexico City — at least that's the sentiment of recent guests. Nestled in the historic Paseo de la Reforma — one of the city's trendiest neighborhoods — The St. Regis Mexico City offers breathtaking views, attentive service (including butlers, at your request) and luxurious digs. Beds are topped with Pratesi linens, while the marble bathrooms are outfitted with Remède bath amenities. All rooms boast a spectacular view of the city, but if you want even more panoramic vistas, head to the gym, indoor swimming pool or Remède Spa — all facilities overlook central Mexico City. And though this area of the city affords plenty of delicious restaurant choices, recent visitors suggest staying in for the menu at the J&G Grill. One thing guests weren't as complimentary of: the daily $15 Wi-Fi fee. However, you can save some coin if you're a Starwood Preferred Guest. This member of the Starwood clan allows guests to accrue or redeem points for choosing to stay here. more

According to recent guests, it's the wide variety of amenities coupled with excellent customer service that make this St. Regis one of their favorite hotels in Atlanta. But its location doesn't hurt, either: You'll find this luxurious property nestled near some of Buckhead's most popular shopping centers. During your stay at The St. Regis, Atlanta, you can tone up at the 24-hour fitness facility and cool off at the 40,000-square-foot Pool Piazza. If you need an extra dose of R&R, consider getting a massage at the in-house Remède Spa. Previous guests also recommend grabbing a bite to eat at Astor Court, which specializes in English cuisine. When it's time to bed down, rooms feature floor-to-ceiling windows, handcrafted chandeliers, St. Regis robes and marble bathrooms, as well as high-tech fittings like flat-screen TVs and iPod docking stations. Walking into the lobby of The St. Regis Princeville, you know immediately that you are at the topthe top of the hotel that is. That's where you'll find the lobby, affording jaw-dropping views of the ocean and Kauai's lush coast. Between Hanalei Bay and Kauai's rugged mountains, the resort's stunning location sets this St. Regis property apart from the competition, as does its golf courses and Halele'a Spa. According to previous visitors, the guest rooms are just as impressive: The St. Regis Princeville forgoes the kitschy tropical decor in favor of decorative accents that touch upon the resort's natural surroundings, such as a color palette of blues, greens, beiges and oranges. Rooms also come with home theater systems, 300-thread-count linens and, in some cases, balconies. The St. Regis Princeville also houses multiple distinct restaurants, all of which use ingredients that have been grown or produced on the island. Another perk? Starwood Preferred Guests can earn or redeem points here for additional stay benefits. more

Luxury is the name of The St. Regis Bahia Beach Resort's game. Occupying a former coconut plantation along Bahia's shoreline in northeastern Puerto Rico, this property boasts 100-foot palms and enviable beach access. Guest rooms here feature beamed ceilings, private terraces and 300-thread-count linens. To get the lay of the land, check out the flowing fairways of the Robert Trent Jones, Jr. golf course and the hotel's expansive seaside pool. If you're looking for more action, a concierge can help you arrange hiking, biking and water expeditions. Or you can unwind with a customized massage at the Remède Spa. When hunger sets in, dine on signature entrées crafted by Chef Jean-George at Fern or sample the menus served at the other on-site restaurants, Seagrapes and Molasses. This modern masterpiece of a hotel in San Francisco's SoMa neighborhood features 306 guest rooms and suites, all equipped with rainforest showers, minibars and several flat-screen TVs (including one in the bathroom). Accommodations here are exceptionally roomy, but if you want to spread out, book a Metropolitan Suite, which boasts about 1,000 square feet of space. Travelers rave about the digs here, but what they especially enjoy about this St. Regis property is its location (near a number of the city's most popular attractions), its modern decor and its friendly service staff. The contemporary American cuisine served at Ame Restaurant also sits well with guests, and if you're planning a weekend stay, make reservations for Sunday brunch at Vitrine Restaurant, open daily for breakfast and lunch. Room rates here are high, but visitors believe the experience is worth the lofty price. St. Regis properties attract high-end clientele with their long list of luxurious amenities and spot-on customer service, and the Aspen branch is no different. Sitting on the southern edge of town, this beautiful hotel has added a modern spin on the traditional ski lodge. A recent $40 million redesign has introduced Gilded Age, mountain-manor decor (stone fireplaces and all) alongside modern amenities like video game systems and digital music players. Guest rooms are spacious and sport oak floors, deep-soaking tubs and furniture designed by luxury frontman, Ralph Lauren. And recent guests agree that the newly redone lobby is a great place to relax after a day on the slopes. On top of its good looks, The St. Regis Aspen Resort wins travelers over with its full-service Remède Spa and flavorful Italian-American cuisine served at Trecento Quindici Decano.
