Our Take: Sitting about a mile from the Arizona border in Canyon Point, Utah, Amangiri incorporates the surrounding landscape into its design. The hotel adopts the muted browns of the desert in its interior, and its pool actually wraps around a sandstone butte. Guests love that all of the rooms boast spectacular desert views, and the private courtyards are also a big hit. Amangiri invites guests to take part in activities like hiking and horseback riding, but if you'd prefer a more relaxing day, head straight to the Aman Spa, where treatments are infused with Navajo healing traditions. It may boast a beautiful setting and luxurious amenities, but guests say that it was the friendliness of Amangiri's staff that will keep them coming back. Just be prepared for sticker shock: Some travelers note that the room rates here are far from budget-friendly.
