Our Take: Located about 10 miles west of downtown Austin, the Barton Creek Resort & Spa isn't the most practical choice for sightseers. But if golf is your game, this hotel is just right for you. Listed as one of Texas' premier golf destinations, this sprawling property is surrounded by lush fairways and immaculate greens. After a morning on the driving range, treat yourself to a rub-down at the Three Springs Spa or a meal at one of the five delectable eateries. And if you have kids in tow, plan on a day at the pool, on the surrounding hiking trails, or on the mini-golf course. Recent guests love this KSL Resort's varied amenities as much as they love the large guestrooms, which include large plasma TVs (for watching the game) and Nintendo systems (for playing the game). However, recent guests aren't aways too fond of the high price tag attached to a Barton Creek Resort getaway.
