Our Take: Since the 1940s, the Blue Haven Hotel has been welcoming guests to Scarborough, Tobago. The hotel's 55 rooms are simple, with hardwood floors, bright yellow and orange accents, and private balconies. Despite the hotel's lack of extravagance, guests report feeling like royalty here thanks to the hotel's friendly staff members and upscale facilities like the seaside pool and the tennis court. Some visitors lament the state of nearby Blue Haven beach (rumored to be the landing point of fictional castaway, Robinson Crusoe), which they say could use a deep cleaning. But the cuisine served at the on-site restaurant never fails to lift spirits.
