U.S. News Review

Positioned in Golden Gate National Park at the foot of the Golden Gate Bridge, Cavallo Point provides visitors with a beautiful skyline view of San Francisco and a relaxed, luxurious place to hang their hats. Guests can rejuvenate at the Healing Arts Center & Spa with exotic treatments, such as a Bamboo Scrub or Cranio-Sacral Massage. And the delectable cuisine served at the on-site Michelin-star restaurant, Murray Circle, impresses most diners. Let's not forget about the accommodations: The resort — which occupies the former army base, Fort Baker — has a variety of suites that are all comfortably furnished and exceedingly spacious. Plus, some rooms even have rocking chairs on outside patios. Most rooms here also come equipped with gas-burning fireplaces, and all rooms are stocked with flat-screen TVs, organic linens and minifridges.

Critic Reviews

Oyster.com

“Originally built as an army base in the late 1800s, the hotel has retained many charming historical details in its two main buildings as well as in its Historic Rooms, which were all formerly officers' residences.”

“Dedication to sustainability and aesthetic integrity are key to the creation of Cavallo Point. Their LEED Certification, Green Initiatives, and Eco Luxe Pup dog friendly program will give you that warm and fuzzy feeling where other hotels might leave you less than inspired.”

“Opened in 2008, with a prime location half a mile north of the Golden Gate Bridge in the Golden Gate National Recreation Area, Cavallo Point blends old and new to great effect.”

Fodor's

“Murray Circle, the on-site restaurant, uses top-notch California ingredients and has an impressive wine cellar, and the neighboring casual bar offers food and drink on a large porch. ”
