Constructed in 1941, El Cortez Hotel & Casino, an anchor property in the Fremont East Entertainment District, is located in historic downtown at 600 East Fremont Street. With 300 newly remodeled hotel rooms, El Cortez features full-pay 3-2 single deck 21, 10x odds on craps, state-of-the-art roulette and over 1,000 slot machines.

In May 2009, the property opened its Cabana Suites, a boutique style hotel offering a 1950s Miami feel in the heart of downtown. El Cortez is proudly affiliated with Michael Gaughan's South Point Sports Book. The Las Vegas Review-Journal voted El Cortez Best Downtown Hotel in 2009, "Best Blackjack in Las Vegas" in 2007, 2009, 2010 and 2011 "Best Video Poker" in 2008, and "Best Keno in Las Vegas" in 2007, 2008, 2009, 2010 and 2011.

Dining options at El Cortez include Cafe Cortez and The Flame Steakhouse. The property's other amenities include: Subway, Dreyer's Ice Cream Shop, Seattle's Best Coffee, El Cortez Gift Shop and a full-service beauty and barber shop. The property is currently completing more than $25 million in improvements and renovations.

Tower room amenities include either two queen or one king-sized bed, sitting room area with sofa and tables, cable television, electronic door locks, room service, safes, clock radios and handicap access rooms upon request. Iron/ironing board, hair dryer, refrigerator with cribs available on a complimentary basis upon request. Smoking rooms available upon request in pavilion rooms only.

El Cortez offers airport dropoffs (though not pickups) with a complimentary shuttle running Sunday thru Friday from 7 am to 2 pm, on the hour. The shuttle is limited to four passengers so reservations are suggested at time of check-in.

PLEASE NOTE: El Cortez requires a valid credit card upon check-in: Mastercard, Visa, American Express or Discover. A refundable deposit of $50 will be charged to the card. A debit card may be used; the deposit on the debit card will be $40 per day with a maximum deposit of $120. Either deposit is fully refundable minus any incidentals. At least one person in the room must be 21 years of age. Maximum length of stay is 7 days per month.
