Our Take: Less than 6 miles south of downtown Puerto Vallarta, removed from the bars and shops and other resorts, sits Garza Blanca Preserve Resort & Spa. This small distance really makes a difference — guests are quick to applaud the resort's lush and peaceful grounds, especially around the infinity pool. The beach also gets its fair share of praise, though guests do note that the shallows can be a bit rocky. To truly bask in the splendor of Garza Blanca, try an aromatherapy massage at Hamara Spa or a dip in one of the resort's Jacuzzis. However, the food at Garza Blanca's two on-site restaurants, Blanca Blue and BocaDos STK, receives mixed reviews — guests suggest hopping in a cab and exploring PV's plethora of dining options.
