Our Take: Rubbing elbows with its sister hotel, the Luxury Bahia Principe Ambar, and several other Bahia Principe properties on the northern shores of Bávaro beach, Luxury Bahia Principe Esmeralda earns high praise from its guests for its colonial-style digs and ample amenities. The resort's 510 rooms feature pastel hues, hydro-massage tubs, and private terraces, but most guests don't plan on spending their Punta Cana vacation indoors. The resort's grounds house the full-service Bahía Spa, a lake-style pool (and a separate kid's pool), and tennis courts. Those looking for a change of scenery can try the greens at the nearby Punta Blanca Golf Course.
