Our Take: Resting on a mile-long stretch of sugary sands in Grand Bahama's Freeport, the Grand Lucayan features 540 rooms and suites, each designed in a contemporary Art-Deco style. Though they vary in size and available amenities, each room comes with a private balcony or patio and complimentary Internet access. The Grand Lucayan also offers a long list of on-site activities, including an 18-hole golf course, a Vegas-style casino, a 25,000-square-foot spa, and three swimming pools. And if you wish to venture beyond the resort, the Port Lucaya Marketplace sits within walking distance. When it's time to refuel, take your pick between the resort's eight dining options, with cuisines ranging from Caribbean to Chinese. Despite the variety, guests say the on-site eateries are overpriced, and recommend grabbing a bite to eat at the marketplace instead.
