Our Take: This Rose Hall retreat has been welcoming guests to its 400 beachside acres for more than 50 years. Its 197 air-conditioned guestrooms each contain cable TV and a mini-bar, as well as a balcony or patio. Larger groups may opt to settle in one of 33 Royal Villas: five- to seven-bedroom accommodations that come with their own butler, cook, and housekeeper, as well as private swimming pools and two golf carts for transportation. Speaking of golf, both guestroom and villa residents may hit the links of Half Moon's Robert Trent Jones Sr.-designed 18 holes or indulge in a massage at the 68,000-square-foot Fern Tree spa. Half Moon also caters to animal lovers; guests love interacting with the two Atlantic Bottlenose dolphins in residence in Half Moon's natural Dolphin Lagoon, as well as a stable filled with 28 groomed horses.
