Our Take: Overlooking the glittering San Diego Bay and rising high above the Gaslamp Quarter, the Hard Rock Hotel is all about being cool. From its trendy food options (Pinkberry fro-yo and Nobu sushi) and its swank décor to its rooftop pool and entertainment lineup, the Hard Rock will definitely keep you occupied on a rainy day (though there aren't many in San Diego). Guests rave about the hotel's stylish guestrooms, which feature halo-illuminated beds, 42-inch flat screen TVs, and ceiling-mounted Hansgrohe rain showers. Despite the deluxe digs, some guests cite loud music from the Hard Rock's two onsite nightclubs and lackluster customer service as setbacks to a perfect stay.
