U.S. News Review

Lodged in the foothills of the Santa Catalina Mountains about 15 miles north of downtown Tucson, the Hilton Tucson El Conquistador Golf & Tennis Resort boasts beautiful desert views and classic Southwestern decor (though some visitors feel that the resort feels too classic — even dated). Guest rooms here come complete with private patios or balconies and signature Serenity furnishings. The 45 lush fairways of the Pusch Ridge, Conquistador and Canada golf courses also win over visitors, as do the scenic tennis courts and the numerous pools (kids especially love the waterslides). And when it comes time to refuel, the resort's three eateries allow guests to taste Sonoran specialties like Prickly Pear Margaritas and spicy tortilla soup. Though some travelers describe rates here as overly pricey, you can save on your stay if you're a member of the Hilton HHonors loyalty program.
