Our Take: With its high-rise towers connected via boats, manicured walkways, and silver-bullet trams, the Hilton Waikoloa Village can sometimes feel like a full-blown theme park rather than a relaxing resort. Most applaud the size and breadth—a mind-boggling 62 acres along the coast of Waiulua Bay, filled with tropical gardens and plentiful wildlife—but waiting for a tram to take you to lunch might grate on the nerves after a while. On the other hand, earning Hilton HHonors points is a definite plus.
