Our Take: This Thompson property is perfectly placed and perfectly named: Here, the ambience exudes the old-school glamour that once made the surrounding neighborhood—Hollywood—famous. Numerous vacationers have detailed the fun atmosphere, the always lively pool (site of some of this town's most notorious parties), and the bubbly staff. The food is also pretty fantastic. If you're a burger lover, fellow foodies insist you try one of the 25 Degrees restaurant's signature sandwiches. According to a blogger from Serious Eats, the first bite into one of the cheeseburgers here is "juicy and satisfying in the way that reminds you money can buy certain kinds of happiness." However, since this hotel is known for its parties, some guests complain of loud, sleepless nights. If that's something you can live with, though, you can find the Hollywood Roosevelt on Hollywood Boulevard, of course, and close to Runyon Canyon.
