Our Take: The gorgeous grounds of Honua Kai Resort & Spa occupy a good chunk of Ka'anapali Beach and have suite-style accommodations with balconies or terraces and fully equipped kitchens. However, some recent travelers say that some of the balconies' ocean vistas leave much to be desired. Other amenities, like the restaurant Duke's Beach House, are popular with most guests. And if you want to partake in a traditional Hawaiian luau, book a ticket for the Old Lahaina one, which takes place only about five miles north of the resort.
