The idea for the hotel was first conceived by Luis Coppola Sr. during his first visit to Southern Baja in the mid 1950s and, together with architect Marco Antonio Monroy, opened the original cliff-front rooms in 1971, and became noticed as an architectural land mark and acclaimed by Architectural Digest magazine for its detailed stonework and for the way in which it compliments with the natural surroundings. The Hotel Finisterra maintains tradition, as families and couples return annually to renew acquaintances

The location of the hotel offers incredible views complemented by a feeling of seclusion, but also provides easy access to the center of town. From the Los Cabos airport, the Finisterra is approximately 35 minutes away

The resort is divided into 2 sections, totaling 283 ocean, marina and garden view rooms. The Finisterra Section (the first and original building) rests on an elaborate stone foundations surrounded by boulders offering tastefully appointed rooms and suites with your choice of Pacific Ocean or bay views. And right on the secluded private beach youll find the spectacular multi story Palapa Beach Club towers with a more contemporary rooms and suites, but just as inviting, and overlooking the pool complex and pacific beach. Waterfalls cascade over the rock cliff between the two sections. An aerial walkway from the tower's seventh floor connects the 2 sections

Our critically acclaimed Blue Marlin Restaurant offers exquisite selections of traditional flavor to please even the most discriminating of pallets. For a relaxing, casual dining experience, our Palapa Restaurant serves it up poolside. The swim-up bar is a refreshing alternative while our Whale Watcher Bar offers one of the best views in all of Cabo

3 free-form swimming pools containing a childrens area, a swim up bar and 7 spa tubs distributed in an array of 3 terraces facing the huge secluded beach are the center of the enjoyment. Just remember that the beach is not safe for swimming but you have the Medano safe to swim beach less than 2 miles away, offering a wide variety of beach clubs, restaurants, bars & water/beach sports
