Our Take: Although the Hotel del Coronado gets criticized for its worn-out appearance, it remains an institution on Coronado Island, just a five-mile drive from downtown San Diego. Guests enjoy different aspects of this hotel (from the beach to the two pools), but many also have complaints about the deteriorating guestrooms.
