Our Take: The Hotel InterContinental Miami might be the perfect solution for beachcombers looking to save a little coin. From this downtown hotel you can see the glitter and glitz of South Beach, plus you'll have convenient access to the Intracoastal Waterway (and therefore, to said beach). Then again, this hotel is so ambient that you might just want to stay in and forgo the beach scene a few days. Spread out over 34 stories, the InterContinental claims 641 rooms and 34 suites gussied in marble bathrooms and gargantuan windows (so you can really take in the brimming beach vistas). There are a few complaints about room service, however, so you might want to visit one of the nearby downtown restaurants instead. And if you're an IHG Priority Club Rewards member you can accrue or cash in points here.
