Our Take: A member of the esteemed IHG Hotels family, this sprawling resort on Cozumel's west coast promises island visitors a stylish — yet casual — getaway. And according to previous guests, this InterContinental property delivers. Flanked by half a mile of sugary shoreline, swaying palm trees and the gargantuan Palancar coral reef, the Presidente InterContinental Cozumel Resort & Spa houses 220 spacious guestrooms furnished in Mexican-inspired décor, Egyptian cotton bedding and private balconies or terraces. Out on the grounds, visitors can perfect their swing on the putting green, practice their backhand on the tennis courts or unwind at the Mandarin Spa. (If you're traveling with kids in tow, you should spend some time at the Presidente's three iguana shelters.) Guests also praise the cuisine served at the three on-site restaurants, but most visitors credit their positive experiences at this resort to the Presidente's employees.
