Our Take: The L.A. LIVE area is a complex of stadiums, open-air plazas, and theatres; some of the best known tenants include the Nokia Theatre and the Grammy Museum, and it's adjacent to the STAPLES Center, where the beloved Los Angeles Lakers play basketball. So this JW Marriott, on L.A. LIVE's premises, is in a prime spot for sports fanatics and audiophiles. This hotel is also great for business travelers; previous guests recount how they could easily walk to the city's financial district from the hotel's 878 guestrooms. There are a few visitors that found both the décor and staff somewhat impersonal, however.
