Our Take: Like the Hyatt Regency Hill Country Resort and Spa, the JW Marriott is a sure hit with families. The expansive property has fairways and spa treatments for the adults; and there's a lazy river, water slides, and poolside movies (on summer weekends) for the kids. Meanwhile, the resort offers a variety of rooms to suit groups of various sizes—whichever accommodations you choose, you'll be surrounded by colorful décor, cozy furniture, and fantastic views of Texas Hill Country. According to guests, the staff always seems to be smiling and ready to assist, and with five restaurants to choose from (all of which serve steak in some way, shape, or form), you certainly won't go hungry. Without traffic, it's about a 30-minute drive into San Antonio, making it easy to spend a day touring the city's historic attractions.
