U.S. News Review
Active travelers frequent this cluster of rustic cottages on the southwest coast of Dominica. And the reviews of recent guests reiterate this assumption; most have nothing but praise for the resort's daily power walks, Pilates classes and hiking excursions along the Zom Zom Trail. They also appreciate that Jungle Bay was built and is run according to sustainable tourism guidelines, meaning that the water comes from a spring-fed stream, waste is composted and 95 percent of the food served at the Pavilion Restaurant is locally grown. There's still a considerable bit of attention paid to luxury, however, even in the resort cottages. The 35 elevated bungalows feature minifridges, private outdoor showers and patios with views of the surrounding foliage (some even have ocean vistas). Meanwhile, the swimming pool is finished in volcanic stone and surrounded by comfy lounge chairs. For even more pampering, you'll find a full suite of services available at the Spa du Soleil. You won't have Internet access in your room, but you can connect for free in the Activities Center.
