Our Take: For peace and quiet, it's hard to beat the Koa Kea Hotel & Resort. Opting for quality rather than quantity, the property hosts 121 rooms on a spectacular portion of Po'ipu Beach amidst fierce competition from larger brand-name resorts nearby. The Koa Kea's design is more urban chic than easy-going tropical, but visitors find plenty of relaxing solitude here. And the staff is very accommodating and personable; so don't hesitate to ask for anything from more linens to directions to the closest hiking trail.
