Our Take: Overlooking the powdery sands just over 5 miles north of central Playa del Carmen, Le Rêve's 25 suites attract travelers craving a quiet, intimate Riviera Maya escape. Recent guests warn of high room rates, but many agree that a stay here is well worth the price. The suites are simple and stylish, appointed with rich wood furnishings, hand-crafted Mexican tile and oversized bathrooms with rain showers and balconies overlooking private gardens. The public areas are just as inviting: Le Rêve boasts an expansive infinity pool that sidles up to the Caribbean Sea's sugary shoreline, which is peppered with beach hammocks and wooden sunbathing chairs. Guests can also appreciate the view while enjoying an open-air treatment at the spa. But many recent visitors claim that the gourmet Mexican cuisine served at Naay Restaurant was the main highlight of their visit.
