Our Take: Unlike its neighbor, the Grand Pequot Tower, the MGM Grand treats Foxwoods visitors to a more contemporary atmosphere. Guestrooms feature rich blue, red and brown hues, lavish linens, high speed Internet access, and floor-to-ceiling windows that overlook southeast Connecticut. Of course, the casino is a big hit with guests looking for a taste of Vegas without the desert climate, but this hotel's most notable feature is its pool. Sprawling across 5,500 square feet, this fan-shaped swimming spot is lined with plush lounge chairs and fully stocked cabanas, which house flat-screen TVs and mini-bars. Visitors also rave about the resort's welcoming staff and excellent service, but suggest skipping a weekend visit when room rates skyrocket.
