Our Take: The Madison Hotel aims to be a chic, European-style boutique. It certainly accomplishes this with Neo-Deco furnishings inside of the former Tennessee Trust Bank Building. But as some guests have discovered, the downside to such a hotel is small rooms. There have also been reports of inconsistent and pretentious staff members. However, the Madison rarely disappoints visitors who can look beyond these shortcomings. With a stunning rooftop patio and superb downtown location, the Madison succeeds as the trendiest four-star hotel in Memphis.
