Our Take: Opened in 1901, the Moana Surfrider was the first hotel built in Waikiki. Although there have been some complaints about the bathrooms—everything from leaky showerheads to outdated door hinges—the fickle bathrooms and the rest of the grounds were refurbished in 2007. Now your stay features accoutrements like luxury bath products and Westin's notoriously comfy Heavenly Beds. Another popular plus is the location; the Moana Surfrider sits right along the midpoint of Waikiki Beach.
