Our Take: Just like its name suggests, the Outrigger Reef can be found along the midpoint of Waikiki Beach—an obvious plus for any island hotel. But if you want a break from the sand, there's a plethora of shops, like Mahina and Blue Ginger, located steps from the lobby in the nearby Waikiki Beach Walk shopping complex. Don't forget the enormous pool, complete with more than 300 chaise loungers, three whirlpool spas, and food and cocktail service. Travelers praise the ocean views—as seen from a majority of the Outrigger's rooms. They also give kudos to the eager-to-please service staff.
