Our Take: The spacious Outrigger Waipouli Beach Resort is one of Kauai's best options for families. The resort hosts larger-than-expected hotel rooms and condos that include kitchens stocked with high-end appliances. The waterslides, river pool, and three sand-bottom whirlpool spas are fun enough to draw you and your kids away from the beach. However, there are some that say the spa is overpriced and that the staff isn't the most helpful. You should also note that the Outrigger's isolated location in Kapaa can be either refreshing or frustrating.
