Our Take: Quite possibly the most famous hotel in Memphis (going neck-and-neck with Elvis Presley's Heartbreak Hotel, of course), The Peabody steals the attention of tourists and hotel guests alike twice a day, every day with the Peabody Duck Parade. But while the daily procession of ducks draws visitors to the hotel, the overrated spectacle doesn’t keep them there. Like many 19th-century hotels, The Peabody offers antiquated guestrooms and small bathrooms—and many guests see this as a shortcoming. Still, they do seem to appreciate that The Peabody provides modern amenities, like 42-inch flat screen TVs and WiFi, while maintaining an old-timey ambience.
