Our Take: This hotel caters to the cruise crowd. The Renaissance service staff does earn favorable reviews, and the convenient location can't be beat. But despite its traveler-friendly locale—near the cruise port—high room rates combined with pricey extras yield mostly tepid reviews from recent visitors. Common complaints include the steep price of parking ($25 a night for self-parking, $30 for the valet) and the lack of a complimentary airport shuttle (the FLL airport is a quick 10-minute ride away). However, the hotel did just undergo a $6 million renovation, which previous guests said was needed. Marriott Rewards members can use or earn reward points here.
