Our Take: Rosewood Hotel Group's flagship property sits north of the vibrant Dallas Arts District, providing the tranquility needed for a good night's sleep alongside the convenience of a relatively central location. Oil heiress Caroline Rose Hunt turned this mansion of a former cotton mogul into a hotel in 1979. Now, the property envelopes guests in period-style décor, with guestrooms sporting elegant furnishings and French doors opening up onto private balconies. (Meanwhile, the Rose Buds For Children program will ensure that your little one has everything they need for a peaceful night, including kid-friendly bath products and a crib, if necessary.) When you're not admiring your digs, take advantage of the hotel's outdoor pool and deck (with food and beverage service), or head to one of the nearby parks for a little fresh air.
