Our Take: On Great Exuma Island, Sandals Emerald Bay offers a luxurious setting enhanced by the feeling of complete seclusion. Though its location may be somewhat disconnected, Sandals Emerald Bay offers plenty of activities to keep you entertained. In addition to a Greg Norman-designed, 18-hole golf course, there are also four pools, a 150-slip deepwater marina, unlimited scuba diving, and the 29,000-square-foot Red Lane® Spa. However, some recent guests still say they felt restless after a few days here. Consider renting a car if you want to explore the rest of Great Exuma Island. Travelers also recommend booking island excursions—like bone fishing and kayaking—through independent tour companies to avoid the exorbitant resort costs. After a long day in the sun, bed down in one of Sandals' spacious ocean view and oceanfront rooms, suites, and villas, decorated with British Colonial-style accents.
