Our Take: The Sheraton Maui Resort & Spa is located just off the coast of Ka'anapali in Lahaina; and when we say "off the coast," we mean it quite literally. This resort is built into the cliffs of a small cove near the legendary "Black Rock" hardened lava formation, one of Maui's favorite snorkeling hotspots. The elevated lobby makes as much of the gorgeous vista of the nearby Ka'anapali Beach and Molokai Island as possible. Recent travelers recommend paying the Sheraton's optional resort fee ($30 a day), which gets you "free" parking and Internet access in your room as well, as scheduled shuttle rides to downtown Lahaina and other local attractions.
