U.S. News Review

Sitting along Waikiki Beach's coveted sands, the Sheraton Waikiki is one of the larger hotels on the Honolulu shore. That can be both good and bad. On one hand, recent guests describe the accommodations here as spacious, making them a good choice for families. (Rooms are decked out in beige and hardwood decor and feature amenities like flat-screen TVs, high-speed Internet access and, in many cases, private balconies). On the other hand, many visitors say this hotel often feels crowded — not only are there dozens of families milling around on their way to the kids pool and playground, but this Sheraton's proximity to the convention center makes it a popular gathering spot for business folk. However, many travelers are willing to brave the crowds for access to the Sheraton Waikiki's excellent location, the infinity pool and complimentary cultural activities such as hula lessons and arts and crafts. The hotel also features several dining options to choose from, while dozens of restaurants sit within walking distance of the front door. Plus, members of the Starwood Preferred Guest rewards program can earn and redeem points here.

Critic Reviews

“What makes the Sheraton Waikiki stand out is its sheer size — it has a slew of features, including bustling shops and nightlife venues packed with both guests and Honolulu locals.”

“Designed for the convention crowd, it's big and busy; the ballroom, one of Oahu's largest, hosts convention expos, concerts, and weddings.”

“For an evening out that includes tropical concoctions, a brilliant sunset venue, a warm and passionate atmosphere, and a beachside locale in Waikiki, I enjoy spending an evening at RumFire at the Sheraton Hotel.”

“This is not the place to book if you're looking for a peaceful getaway. What you do get: views of the ocean (available in most rooms), the Helumoa Playground pool for kids, and an infinity pool for adults.”
