Our Take: Located right on Fort Lauderdale's beach, the lemon-yellow, oddly shaped Atlantic Resort & Spa is all about the ocean view. In fact, it was designed with the optimum vista in mind, down to the gorgeous balconies gracing many of its 124 rooms and suites. Another guest favorite is the kitchenette—stocked with a small fridge, a two-burner stove, and a microwave—that comes with each room. Although you'll pay for all the perks—The Atlantic is one of Fort Lauderdale's pricier hotels—most recent visitors say the experience is worth the splurge. Along with the well-equipped accommodations, recent guests also praise the outdoor pool, but warn that you have to claim your lounge chairs early in the morning. If you don't happen to snag a poolside lounger, guests suggest you hit the beach—after all, the hotel overlooks 23 miles of Florida sand and surf. And when you need a rejuvenating escape from the beach scene, head to The Spa Atlantic for a deep tissue massage or body scrub.
