Our Take: Travelers and reviewers alike gush over this Italian Renaissance-style hotel. High on their lists: the gorgeous grounds, which features two golf courses and 10 Har-Tru tennis courts; the genial front desk, which will probably recommend you spend a day in the relaxing spa; and the spacious guestrooms, which went through a massive renovation in 2011 to infuse a little more hominess in the decor. Reviews are a little more mixed for the on-site restaurants. Some guests say the quality of the dishes don't match the high prices. Recent visitors suggest The Beach Club for breakfast or lunch, and The Ocean Grill for an early dinner (try and reserve a table in the porch area for picturesque views of the Atlantic Ocean). Like the other area luxury hotels, The Breakers is an oceanfront property along Palm Beach's South County Road.
