Our Take: Since the 17th century, The Buccaneer has been welcoming guests to its charming retreat along St. Croix's picturesque northern coast. Guestrooms are elegant and simplistic in design, featuring bright blue, green, and salmon-colored décor and 21st-century amenities like satellite TVs, mini-fridges, and private patios or balconies. Although it lacks ultra-luxurious amenities, like lavish bath products and Jacuzzi tubs, previous visitors say they felt completely relaxed and comfortable thanks to the hotel's accommodating staff and numerous family-friendly activities. While the kiddos make new friends at the Kid's Camp, adults can take a swing at the 18-hole Buccaneer Golf Course or turn up the romance on a sunset sail for two. Recent guests also applaud The Buccaneer's scrumptious dishes, which include classic American fare, Mediterranean delights, and even banana pancakes at the five on-site restaurants.
