Our Take: Like its sister property, The Fairmont Acapulco Princess, The Fairmont Pierre Marques sits on a prime stretch of Revolcadero Beach. However, unlike the Acapulco Princess, the Pierre Marques doesn't exude the same mega-resort feel. Instead of sky-scraping towers, you'll find a collection of Mexican villas, bungalows and low-rise buildings all shaded by soaring palm trees and tropical greenery. Recent guests say the absence of a multi-story tower creates a more relaxed feel throughout the entire property. In fact, many reviewers preferred the Pierre Marques over the Acapulco Princess for its outstanding service and more relaxed atmosphere. Newly renovated rooms feature a private balcony, garden or ocean views, and Mexican-tropical décor. And along with the three on-site pools, guests also have access to the Acapulco Princess's Willow Stream Spa, golf course and tennis courts. Just make sure you head back to the Pierre Marques for dinner. The Tabachin Restaurant and the hotel's three other casual eateries receive rave reviews from guests.
