Our Take: The Raphael Hotel earns praise for its affordability, as well as its luxury. The hotel's location—overlooking Country Club Plaza—is another feather in its cap, according to recent guests. The Raphael's 126 units fit neatly into a converted brick apartment building, which was built in the 1920s. The upscale American cuisine at Chaz Restaurant and Lounge comes very highly rated, and it can be enjoyed either at a restaurant table or in bed (there's 24-hour room service).
