Our Take: Sweeping mountain vistas and rustic furnishings are just two of the many reasons why guests are drawn to The Ritz-Carlton, Lake Tahoe. Others include fantastic customer service, decadent dining options, and a sumptuous atmosphere. Located about 14 miles north of Dollar Point on Lake Tahoe in Truckee, Calif., this Ritz allows visitors prime access to regional sports like skiing and golf. As for the hotel itself, on-site amenities include the tranquil Lake Tahoe Spa Resort and several gourmet restaurants (including the French-Californian fusion restaurant Manzanita, headed by Chef Traci Des Jardins).
