U.S. News Review

The Ritz-Carlton, Amelia Island promotes extreme relaxation in in a luxurious setting. Though the east-island resort hosts weekly activities that range from kayak tours to treasure hunts to cocktail-making classes to salt tasting (in the on-site Salt Gourmet Shop) the serene setting just might seduce you to participate in the area's best extracurricular activity lounging about in one of the resort's Adirondack chairs, simply doing nothing at all. Meanwhile, young families and swooning couples (including some honeymooners) all unanimously agree that the Ritz's staff couldn't be more accommodating. The par-72 golf course is also a hit with putters, and foodies are sated in the mouth-watering Salt restaurant. Recent guests also attest that the rooms are just as peaceful as the grounds. Enjoy coastal or ocean views from your private balcony and get a good night's rest with the 400-thread-count Egyptian Frette cotton linens and goose down pillows. Accommodations here also feature high-tech amenities like flat-screen TVs and high-speed Internet access.
